[ mood | disappointed ]

I got cheated today...

Well, I asked for it.

It's the same old story replaying itself again.

[ mood | thoughtful ]

Oh dear, I woke up this morning and found myself back in Singapore. Perhaps it's self-delusional on my part, but I wished I'm back in Korea.
I loved every moment I was there, and the people there :)
Took hundreds of pictures and I have loads to share. From going stark naked in the Korean bathhouse, to admiring the magnificent scenery at Nami Island.
I must say my 7days over at Korea was really a fruitful one. Besides enjoying myself there, I've picked up a few tips on buying Ginseng, a bit of Korean history, and learnt so much about the Korean culture, and of course practicing my "ahn-nyong-ha-se-yo" and "gahm-sa-hah-mi-da" with the locals.

Brother and me at Dongdaemon. First night at Korea. Took quite a while to get used to the freezing cold weather, but I love the low humidity there. Had good hair day everyday! HOHO!
And oh, check out the 2 The Face Shop babes. Pretty ladies!

We ventured into their subway station and quickly took a picture there. People were staring at us 3 idoits. And check out Bastien's scarf, so 'winter sonata'. HAHA. Bought it that very night from a pushcart in Dongdaemon. Only $10++. SO CHEAP! I bought a belt too, only $8! CHEAP CHEAP!

2nd day after breakfast. Food was bad, but we didn't mind. I was so excited to visit the places. And yes, we were trying to show the smoke from our mouths. It was THAT COLD. Ok, I know we looked crazy in here.
Next picture!

At Nami Island! It was really misty that day, and gave the photo the nice effect. Nope, no photoshop at all. So nice right! The ground was soft from all the fallen leaves, and they acted like carpet. Ahhh.... I so miss Korea!

A very unflattering picture of me.

ME! hehe.. I know you love me! :)
The stylo man in the background is my dad.

Oh my goodness I love this picture! Taken in Nami Island by John/Jung. I really didn't get his name well, sounded like John, but do Koreans have english names? So I'll just call him John/Jung. A really nice lad he is.   :)
The picture was really well taken, except that my brother decided that he wanted to 'sleep' that very moment. Ok, I was saying the picture was very well taken, cos John/Jung is a professional photographer. :)

Maple leaf. Love this photo as well. Taken by Bastien(got potential huh)

Baby Ostrich.. Weird to see them on the island. Anyway, I stood a distance away cos I'm scared it'll just run over and nip my ears like I always see on TV. Ostriches seem to be such feisty animals.

Giving silly faces.

Ok, it was freezing us at the ski mountain. FREEZING! And my stupid brothers ganged up on me and threw snowballs at me, and my korkor poured snow INTO my shirt! FREAKING PAINFUL OK!

I had to cover myself up like that because I lost my beanie on the bus. :(

I fell down on the slope. And my korkor happily took a picture of me.

And I fell again. :(

I spotted an Eskimo! HAha, kidding. That's just my mum. Yes, she felt THAT cold.

Check out that can of drink I was carrying. Love that drink!  Starting to miss it already. Too bad SG doesn't sell this black bean drink. Argh, someone just import it in can?!

The lazy lions at EverLand. CUTE!!

Don't be fooled by the sunny appearance in the photo. The weather was freezing our asses off.

The tour guide passed my kimchi! Yay! I can be a Korean housewife already! :D

Wonder who's that pretty lady in the picture.
HAHA

Having the "DA CHANG JIN" dinner. Yes, weird name. And Bastien told me to pose like that. No way am I a rocker chick.

Orange eyebrows.

Taken on the last day. :( After shopping at Myeong Dong.

Taken with the people that made the trip so enjoyable.
From left: John/Jung(photographer), Bastien, Annie(tour guide), Me, Peter(SG tour guide).
I remember Bastien told me that John/Jung was very good looking. But later on during the trip, we all found John/Jung very poor thing. Not only did he take pictures for us, he carried our luggages, did headcounts, looked for missing/late people, filled up our rice and dishes, made coffee, and basically, everything. *sigh* Even Annie couldn't stop praising him especially during the last day. Well, I guess all of us knew, and so we bought all the photos he took of us. That being said, the pictures he took turned out great. Of cos I know myself I cant take pretty pictures because of my ugly mug, but then.........

ANYWAY! I really missed Annie. I miss her  "QI CHUANG LE"(Wake up), and her funniest phrase "SHANG CHE SHUI JIAO, XIA CHE NIAO NIAO"(Only know how to sleep when onboard the bus, and pee when off the bus). Don't know why, but it was really cosy up the bus, probably cause of the heater which kept us all nice and warm. And OH! She told us the seat that John/Jung sat does not have access to the heater, and so he was basically freezing throughout the bus ride.(SO KE LIAN RIGHT!?) But he didn't complain one bit. *sigh*
Back to Annie, Bastien and I agreed that the trip turned out so fun mainly because of Annie. Not only did she tell us what was worth to buy, she shared with us so many Korean culture.
Like a man only has to provide a house for his wife, but she has to pay all of the furnitures and appliances from her own pocket.
That Koreans love to use products from their own country. Like 8 out of 10 cars are made in Korea. I saw so many Hyundais and Kias around.
That Korean Ginseng are at their best stage at 6 years old. Older den that, it would turn mouldy. Except for wild ginseng.
Korean Ginseng <6years will make you 'heaty' when ingested, so it's better to use them as masks, facial wash etc.
And oh, she told us alot on the Korean bathhouse etiquette.

Gosh, talking about the bathhouse, it was a real eye opener. Call me ignorant, but I had never seen so many naked women walking around. And I was one of them. *blush*
My mum and I walked into the bathhouse with a TINY towel covering our front, so our entire back was exposed. Then, we had to bathe in cubicles with no doors. But since everyone had to walk around naked, no point building doors right.
And my mum was laughing at the papaya breasts. *sigh*
But after a while, I got used to the awkwardness, I started walking around nonchalantly like the others, dipping myself into the different types of pool. There was the green tea pool, ginseng pool, and some other pools I forgot. But they all seemed to smell the same.

And yes, I felt seriously under dressed at some point of the time in Korea, especially in shopping districts like Myeongdong, Dongdaomon, and Coex Mall, and the "Nu Ren Jie" at the girls university. All the Koreans dressed so well there.

Ok now, I so tired.  Been blogging like since 5plus, and it's almost 8 now.
Wow.

I so miss Korea.  :(

It's been some time now [Friday, December 14th 2007]
[ mood | hopeful ]

Leeched these photos from [info]do_flyaway. Thanks babe  :)

It was great chatting with them over good food and I really missed the delicious hibiscus juice. Well, all the girls now are working, except me. Shairah's a primary school teacher now. Sarsee's a scientist. Merlin's a safety officer. Ellen's a headhunter(am I right girlie?). And Liangdan's an insurance agent. Felt kinda lost at some point of the conversation because Jianming, Ellen and Merlin are in Science field, and I couldn't understand a word they were saying.
Haha. Guess I lost touch from the science science stuff since I graduated from poly.

But listening to them chatting about the working world really made me feel like starting work immediately! Even Trots' working happily in DBS now, earning big bucks. It seems like all of them are so independent now, and of cos not to mention, financially independent too. :P

It's another half year more to go before my semester ends, and I really hope I can overcome all the obstacles laying in front of me now.

But what the heck, I'll be flying off the Korea next Wednesday. Let me have a break now before facing these dreadful obstacles.
Till then,
Tata!

h a p p y [Friday, November 9th 2007]

Finally managed to get my hands on the microfoliant. But sigh, the breakouts just keeps coming in. Had 2 new neighbours this week to join the pimple family on my face. Big cystic, juicy ones.
And oh, 4 of them burst last night. *shudder*

Ok, very random, but I love how my windows mist up nicely at night. :) Feels like x'mas. :)

Had a nice haircut with Clara on Wednesday, and got mixed reviews about my new hair. Some say it's nice, but some say it made me look fat. But I am fat anyway, so why hide?
I personally like it, and so shut up already alright?

And oh, Bastien's girlfriend's(Zoe) dog is just the cutest thing in the world(besides my Fanny)! *think the dog from ManInBlack II* She's called Bobo! Haha, cute name!

*sigh* this post is so random.

happy happy *cough* [Friday, October 19th 2007]
[ mood | lazy ]

Got woken up this morning by the bad coughing and was shocked to see that Pork wasn't around like he promised me last evening.
First instinct was to picked up my phone and called Pork:
me:croaking你在哪裡?
Pork: 我在Mcdonald's 買早餐給你﹗ 買hotcakes給你ok?

So sweet!
I love my Pork ♥

Just kop my brother's cough mixture for my cough and feel like sleeping now. Plus it's raining outside right now.

sleep.sleep.sleep.

I'm busy.. [Wednesday, October 17th 2007]
[ mood | sick ]

Yup, busy being SICK!
Having sore throat is the worst. Makes everything taste bland. :(

And "hurray" for Friday's late night lecture. From 7pm to 10pm. I'm usually in bed by 10pm. :(

*sigh*

Lao Charbor [Friday, October 12th 2007]
[ mood | restless ]

I was browsing through my photo archives when I realised how much I've aged.
I was horrified!

Me when I was around 21. All young and fresh.

Just taken a few months back and I looked so old and tired.

:(

*sigh*

Anyway, I just realised that it's Hari Raya tomorrow!! Not that I celebrate it though, but I kinda missed wishing Rose Hari Raya. Aiya, But I'm really glad that I get to laze on my slouchy sofa watching holiday movies marathon all day!!
Haha.
Actually planned to go shopping in town tomorrow, but I hate the weekend crowd.
Probably will drag Pork down on Tuesday.

Anyway, watching 無間道3 now on channel62. The show is so confusing! So what happened? I thought my 梁朝偉 died already?
Anyway, I was reading Life! earlier this week and they did a coverage on him, and HE IS SO HANDSOME AND CHARISMATIC CAN!
I wish my Pork can have his eyes and nose. Haha, big nose can compliment my big round nose better. Pork's nose is too sharp.
*sigh* I miss Pork.

Ok, I realised I'm just typing gibberish. Shall continue trying to understand the show.

Cheery Thursday [Thursday, October 11th 2007]
It's funny how a good start to a day can amount to an entire day of happiness. :)

I woke up feeling cheery, probably cos I slept at 10pm(cos Pork was dota-ing with Bastien) the night before. Feels great to be able to sleep a full 8hours. :)

Anyway, dropped by Mobil for petrol(for Dad's car), and bought a yummy snack to munch on.

Was initially attracted to its packaging, though can't read Korean though.

Chocolate and cream. Very yummy, and the best thing is that it's so cheeeeeaaaap!Only 3 bucks per box.

Anyway, I digress.

The main reason I wanna blog today is that I want to say my Pork was so sweet to give me a surprise on Saturday!
The boy wanted to surprise me by bringing me to this unknown restaurant for dinner. But I spoiled the surprise by guessing the exact place during the journey there. Haha, the silly boy brought me to The Wine Company at Evans, all because I was disappointed I could go there the other time with Trots.
And ya, silly Pork gavesurprisedme with flowers too. *blush*

Well, the simple dinner and flowers really made me day that day, and to top it all, Pork made me wait for him in the shelter while he ran in the rain to drive the car over...all because he didn't want me to get drenched. *double blush*

Anyway, the nice day ended with Pork enjoying his dota-ing session with Bastien, leaving the girlfriend (that's me)sleeping on the sofa till they finished their game. How sweet! :)

my favourite chocolate candy :)

Style Chic [Friday, March 16th 2007]

Nicole Richie looks so chic here..
People will probably think I'm mad if I walk around in that scarf.
But then again, I'll probably suffocate myself in this stupid humid sillypore with that scarf.

*sigh*

I want to go to COLD COLD countries!
